This may be one of my proudest moments ever! On October 18th it’ll be the 1 year anniversary of my Shine Bronzer launch/my Bday. I guess I can finally say I’VE MADE IT!! Getting a write up in a magazine you’ve been reading you’re whole life? Ahhhmazing!
I love that they are using my bronzer as a recommended product to reduce the appearance of scars or bruises. This is an added bonus to this product and something that most people wouldn’t associate with a body bronzer.
Bronzer Tip: Apply one layer of Shine Bronzer, let it dry completely, and add another layer for added coverage. It really really makes the skin look flawless, Completely reducing the appearance of cellulite, stretch marks and any scars. For Flawless, glowing, bronzed skin year round, check out my product Carlene K Shine Bronzer on

This is too much fun, and will save you $$$. While cleaning last week I rediscovered my bag full of old MAC lipsticks, all the pale pinks I’ve worn over the past couple years. I’ve been saving them up because MAC has a recycling program, bring in 6 empty plastic containers and get a free lipstick! I literally could not sleep the other night thinking about the amazing pink palette I was going to make. Haha, total makeup geek, I know!
Today I went to one of my fav beauty stores and purchased a JAPONESQUE-Lipstick Palette Kit. So stoked! $18.99. It comes with the perfect 8 pan palette, a spatula, a melting/pouring bowl and a lip brush. SCORE!

I then laid out all my fav lipsticks and arranged them in the order I wanted.
Here’s the key, most people get to where their lipstick is flat and they cant apply it anymore, and they toss it. NOOO, Don’t Do It! There’s still half a tube of lipstick left in the bottom half of the case. People are throwing out their lipsticks half used.
So take the spatula, and scrape out every ounce of lipstick until theres nothing left, and wipe it all off into the melting bowl.

Then place the bowl in the microwave for 40-60 seconds. The bowl is rubber so its ok to microwave, however it does get really hot.

Let it cool for a few seconds, bend the bowl a bit and pour it into the selected slot. Fill it to the brim but not over.wipe the bowl clean while the lipstick is still in liquid form, it cleans super easy.

Then Repeat until all the slots are filled….Take a pointed QTip and wipe the edges so it looks nice and neat.

Isn’t she pretty????

And Finally, gather all your empty containers, march them back into the MAC store and cash in on a brand new lipstick!!
This saves so much room in my personal makeup bag, and now that I’ve done this for me, I will definitely be doing this for my makeup kit. Like most people Im a creature of habit and I definitely have my favorite colors that I stick to. Yet I carry around a million lipsticks. This will lighten my load and make my job so much easier.
Hope you give it a try!! xoxox

When one of my favorite makeup artists, Carlene K (who is the secret behind the Pussycat Dolls, Kristin Cavallari, Demi Lovato), has the time to do makeup tutorials, I get soooo excited. She doesn’t get to post often, but when she does, I know her tutorials will be always be fun, girly,…

I started out by evening out Nicole’s skin with MAKE UP FOR EVER- Face & Body Foundation. It has amazing coverage but is extremely light, it can be layered for full coverage.

We wanted her look to have a rocker edge to it so I thought it’d be best to pull the smokey eye out a bit on the outer edges.. I started by framing her eye with a neutral brown. MAC- Malt blended into the crease.

I then defined her crease and smoked her lash line all the way around with MAKE UP FOR EVER shadow #172

I used SMASHBOX- Soft Effects Powder Eye Liner to smoke her outer corners and I blended it to a point outward. I love this product!!

I added the #15 Eyelash

and filled in her inner rim and winged out her eye liner with SMASHBOX- Limitless Liquid Liner Pen

I shaded Nicoles cheekbones and bronzed her cheeks with another favorite product
SMASHBOX- Step by Step Contour Kit

I popped a touch of color and glow on the apples of her cheeks with URBAN DECAY- Score Blush

On Nicoles lips we used a light matte lipstick- MAC- Kinda Sexy

and of course I finished off the look with my product CARLENE K SHINE BRONZER!
